Yes, plenty! Clubs and activities include Hurling, Camogie, Men’s and Ladies Gaelic football, Men’s and Ladies Rugby, Soccer, Golf, Outdoor Club, Boxing, Weightlifting, Judo and Basketball… to name but a few, as well as activities such as Aerobics, Boxercise and Yoga. TUS accepts QQI/FETAC awards for entry on all programmes of study. Please note that special requirements may exist for particular programmes depending on the level of the course in question. Please refer to TUS Prospectus for further information on specific QQI requirements for some courses.
Holders of QQI FETA Level 5 awards are eligible to enter year 1 of programmes. Holders of some Level 6 qualifications may be eligible for advanced entry to year 2 of particular programmes subject to certain criteria. See Admissions for more information.
Yes, we welcome and encourage applications into all programmes from persons of mature years. To qualify as a mature applicant, you must be 23 years on January 1st in the year of entry to an undergraduate programme.
Mature applicants should apply to the Central Applications Office (CAO) by February 1st. In certain instances, late applications may be accepted.

Yes, TUS is a member of the HEAR and DARE admissions schemes. For useful information on each scheme, see www.accesscollege.ie
If you think you may be eligible for a student grant, you should apply for it as soon as possible. Full details on student grants and finance, including associated legislation and application forms are available at www.susi.ie
You can change your mind as often as your like until July 1st.
There are multiple public transport options for our various campuses. Bus Eireann and Irish Rail provide daily transport services across the Midlands and Midwest. For more information you can check out www.buseireann.ie and www.irishrail.ie
Yes. TUS’s Computer Services Department provides all the computing and information technology requirements for the university across all our campuses in Athlone, Limerick, Clonmel, Ennis and Thurles.

Yes. If you are offered a place, you can choose to defer for one year, however you must contact TUS admissions. Please also refer to the TUS Prospectus, for specific information on deferring a place.

Yes, every student who successfully completes their 3 years of a level 7 will automatically progress to the level 8 associated with the course in question, if they so wish.
If you are interested in attending TUS, we would recommend that you provisionally book places now or as soon as possible. In first year, many students tend to live in nearby student villages before moving into private houses for their 2nd, 3rd and 4th years. There is a list of contacts and information regarding accommodation services on the TUS Students’ Union website.

Level 6 is a two year higher cert and level 8 is a four year honours degree. It is important to remember that you can use your level 6 as a pathway to your level 8 honours degree.
